Built for coaches of girls' teams

1 in 5 girls drop out of their sport.

Most never say a word first. Playher tracks each girl's performance, energy and mindset and warns you weeks before she stops turning up.

RóisínBack from ACL

Róisín is returning from an ACL injury. Watch her confidence on the ball this week.

Recommended: reduced session, 45 min, no contact drills.
Soccer · Gaelic Football · Basketball

Coach every girl in your sport, not just your best eleven.

Fair minutes, who's turning up, how she's playing and where she plays best. Then the next session planned from what actually happened, with your sport's official drills.

Plan Tuesday round winning the ball back, with FIFA's out-of-possession drills, built for the girls who are fit to train.

FIFA Training Centre drills
  • Fair minutes for every girl: who played 320 of 400 minutes, and who's spent the season on the bench.
  • Find where she plays best: centre-back, midfield or up front, from how she plays in each.
  • Training attendance session by session, so you see who's drifting before she's gone.
  • Dips in form and energy are recognised, so you know who to push and who to ease off.

The intelligence

Four layers. One nudge.

Every coaching nudge draws from all four layers at once. Not one signal, not a template: this player, this session, this moment.

Position

She's been played out of position. The data shows it.

Track where she plays, how she performs in each role and where she wants to develop. Updates after every match.

What you see"AM is Sarah's strongest position. Three sessions at CM and her form is dipping."
Energy

Know when to push her. Know when to ease off.

Her energy across sessions, from what you observe. Girls need more recovery between high-intensity work; this tells you when the window is open.

What you see"Niamh's energy has been rising steadily. This is her window for technical work."
Mindset

Spot the signals before they become a decision to stop.

Confidence in female athletes is context-dependent. Playher surfaces when to change the session plan, and when to change the conversation instead.

What you see"Sarah's confidence has been visibly growing. Give her a small active role."
Sport science

35 female development principles, always working.

Girls' physiology, psychology and communication are different. The science is built in; you get the coaching nudge, not a textbook.

What you see"Perceived fairness is a stronger dropout signal than form at 14. Tell her before the team sheet."
The science is real

Girls don't develop like boys. Coaching them the same way is the problem.

01

Different physiology

Girls are 4–6x more likely than boys to tear an ACL playing the same sport. They need more recovery between high-intensity sessions, and peak power drops faster under fatigue. Technical work belongs early in training, not after conditioning.

02

Different psychology

Confidence in female athletes is context-dependent. Specific praise lands; generic encouragement doesn't. Fear of failure is more common, and it shows up differently.

03

Different communication

Girls disengage when lectured. They respond when heard. One-to-one conversations matter more than group feedback for girls who are struggling.

The Playher nudge

One action. Every session.

Not generic advice, not a checklist. A single nudge for this player, her position, her energy, her mindset and the science of how girls her age develop, with a horizon: today, the next few games, or the season.

  • Position-aware: specific to her role and where she's developing
  • Horizon-tagged: this game, the next 2–3, or the season
  • Goal-linked: tied to the season goal it moves
  • Science-backed: female dropout and development research built in

"I want you watching the centre-back partnership at training. Every time they talk before a corner, count it."

Her confidence has been visibly growing. This is the moment to give her a small active role without physical pressure.

Playher report

Something she takes home.

A development report written for her, not about her. Her wins, her next level, and a challenge she can act on. Specific to her position and stage, handed to her by her coach after training.

Every girl is different

Playher learns how to talk to her.

Seven communication archetypes, because the relationship is the coaching. You pick one per player; it changes as she grows.
